(UNDATED) - An early Spring could be bad news for allergy sufferers across the Wabash Valley. A mild winter had been rough on those with allergies.

Medical staff at say they have recently seen an increase of seasonal allergy patients.

They say tree and ragweed pollen blowing up from Arkansas could be to blame for the recent flare ups.

"These south winds we've had the last few days is bringing it up this way and exposing a lot of the Wabash Valley folks to this extra irritants in the air," Jimmy McKanna, Registered Respiratory Therapist, said.

Allergy season typically kicks off in late April or May.

Common side effects are runny noses, inflamed airwaves and sinus headaches.
