Two Decades Old Murder Case Solved

Last updated on Friday, February 3, 2012

(NEW ALBANY) - More than two decades after a New Albany woman was murdered, police have made an arrest.

54-year-old Christopher Baxter was arrested Thursday and charged with murdering his wife in 1990.

Police found Robin Baxter's body in the Ohio River in June of that year.

In early police interviews Christopher told police he and his wife were fighting that day but that he had blacked out and didn't remember what else happened.

Years later an inmate contacted New Albany police to say Christopher told him he killed his wife. He is now being held in the Floyd County Jail on charges of murder.
