(COLUMBUS, OHIO) - A federal judge has postponed sentencing for ex-Ohio State and Colts quarterback Art Shlichter in a fraud case stemming from a million dollar ticket-selling scheme.
U.S. District Judge Michael Watson on Monday agreed to give Shlichter more time to have his mental health assessed after a follow-up appointment was canceled when Schlichter was arrested for alleged cocaine use.
52-year-old Shlichter has been held in jail after authorities say he violated the conditions of his bond last month by testing positive for cocaine use while free on house arrest.
Following that arrest Shlichter requested he receive drug abuse counseling once he is sentenced. Police say Shlichter defrauded more than 50 people by promising college football and NFL tickets he never delivered.
