(INDIANAPOLIS) - The average gas price in Bedford Monday morning was $3.32 for a gallon of regular unleaded.
Statewide the price average is $3.46, a month ago, $3.30 a gallon and a year ago it was $3.12 a gallon.
It's common for prices to jump heading into the summer driving season, but never has the average price been this high, this early in the year. Today's prices are 36 cents higher than this day last year.
A senior petroleum analyst at Gas Buddy.com says prices will rise higher and at a faster rate come late March into April.
