(NEW CASTLE) - A New Castle custodian was arrested last Thursday after police said she sold prescription medications to a student.

Debbie Cook, 44, was charged with two counts of dealing a controlled substance. Police said Cook was charged with two Class A felonies since the alleged incident occurred within 1,000 feet of the New Castle Area Alternative School.

Court documents revealed a male student was questioned by police after a female student allegedly admitted to taking two different prescription painkillers she received from him.

The male student stated he received the painkillers from a "staff member" that he identified as Debbie. The teenager stated he purchased a total of three pills on Wednesday and Thursday for $11.

Cook allegedly admitted to police she sold the painkillers to the student.

Cook placed bond and was released from the Henry County Jail.
