(MUNCIE) - Ball State University is going online to make sure people banned from campus stay away.
The university is posting names, photographs and identifying information of people who have been issued trespass notices by campus police on its website at www.bsu.edu/trespass.
Eight males are listed on the site. They were banned from campus after being accused of offenses including harassment, marijuana use and downloading and possessing child pornography. Two of the students have been expelled.
Ball State spokesman Tony Proudfoot told The Star Press the trespass notice system is similar to ones used at Virginia Tech and Coastal Carolina University.
It was developed after a regular review of the school's safety policies.
Proudfoot said about a dozen people are barred from campus each year after being deemed a safety risk.
The names released by the university are: Bryan A. Glover, Dylan White, Samuel S. Smith, Robert T. Smith, Devin N. Nicholson, Joseph M. Wade, Jacob C. Zimmerman and Sean A. Sumwalt.
"These trespass notices will remain posted on the site for two years or until the violation has been lifted," read a statement on the university's website.
Police asked anyone who sees those on the list on campus to call them at 765-285-1111.
