(INDIANAPOLIS) - Donald Burns is still a person of interest in the disappearance of Noblesville woman Dorothy Heard, but that is not why he was at the Pendleton Correctional Facility.
Burns was defending his actions, dating back almost 16 years, when he was convicted on four counts of molesting a 13-year-old girl.
Donald Burns: "We had sexual intercourse."
Parole Board Member: "How old were you?"
Donald Burns: "I was 30."
Before hearing the board's decision on the old charges, Burns was served four new ones. Two counts of forgery and two counts of theft. Theft, for allegedly taking items out of Heard's house, the same day she went missing. Forgery, for allegedly using his aunt's credit cards at a nearby Wal-Mart.
Burns has not been charged in Heard's disappearance.
The parole board's decision was not surprising to most, given the number and nature of these charges. Burns' parole request was denied.
His next parole board hearing on the same charges is set for January 2013.
