Last updated on Monday, January 23, 2012

(MORGAN COUNTY) - Controversy is building around Morgan County Coroner Garry Long and some are calling for him to be removed from office and other are wondering why he left the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department.

Long's website says he served Morgan county for 26 years and highlights his career as a detective sergeant, an investigator for the Major Crime Task Force, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

However Facebook messages to a 17-year-old boy tell a different story. Telling the boy he is bi-sexual and has the "hots for him, but not to tell anyone".

At the times of those posts he tells the boy he is drunk. Indiana State Police investigated, but found no basis for criminal charges, because the age of consent is 16. However shortly after the investigation. Long retired from the sheriff's department he had also filed for re-election, but withdrew his candidacy.
