Judge To Rule On Secretary Of State White Case Today

Last updated on Wednesday, January 4, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Embattled Secretary of State Charlie White appeared in court Tuesday.

Marion Circuit Judge Louis Rosenberg decided to delay the decision on how long White can keep his job.

In December, Marion Circuit Judge Louis Rosenberg ruled White was ineligible to hold office and that he should be replaced by White's Democratic challenger in the election, Vop Osili.

Rosenberg ruled White registered to vote in a precinct where he did not live during the 2012 election. The judge determined White claimed he lived with his ex-wife, but he was really living with another woman at a different location.

However, White appealed the ruling and requested that the judge delay the decision to remove White until the Indiana Supreme Court hears the appeal.

Rosenberg agreed and continued with the proceedings Tuesday, where he heard arguments on how long White should stay in the position.

However, Rosenberg decided to delay the decision and said a ruling would be made by 9 a.m. Wednesday.
