Indianapolis Will Lean On Regional Airports For Super Bowl Traffic

Last updated on Friday, January 6, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis will lean on regional airports in February, as an influx of planes will overload Indianapolis International Airport.

Super Bowl organizers said there could be 1,000-1,300 general aviation aircraft in the region for the Super Bowl.

Indianapolis International Airport should be able to handle 500-600 of those, but outlying airports will need to pick up the slack on the rest.
