(COLUMBUS) - Bartholomew County Coroner Allen Smith, who gained national exposure on “The Biggest Loser” reality television series, plans to run for the District 6 U.S. congressional seat.
His announcement makes him the latest Republican to indicate an intention to run for the office, which U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., will vacate at year's end to run for governor.
Other announced Republican candidates include John Hatter, Luke Messer, Travis Hankins, T.J. Thompson Jr. Don Bates Jr. and Andrew Phipps.
