(INDIANAPOLIS) - An unprecedented number of Hoosiers will have to renew their licenses this year and if you're one of them, you might be considering changing your license plate too.

The Indianapolis Zoo has a brand new plate you might be interested in. The nonprofit released the brand new plate featuring the endangered Amur tiger Friday. There are only a few hundred of the big cats left in the wild. The zoo has three Amur tigers living in its Tiger Forest exhibit.

"Specialty plates are nothing new to Indiana, over 400,000 were sold last year alone that raised over $11 million for various nonprofits around the state so we had a great opportunity to get in line and participate in what is a wonderful, established program in the state of Indiana, " said Jon Gleasing, Indianapolis Zoo Director of Public Relations.

The plate is available for $40. Of that, $25 will go directly to the zoo. The money will be used to provide food and medicine for the more than 1,400 animals there.
