Jasper Mother Accused Of Abuse

Last updated on Friday, December 2, 2011

(JASPER) - An investigation from a 911 call in Jasper for a sick infant results in the arrest of a Jasper mother.

Lindsay R. Gootee, 24, was taken into custody Tuesday at the Jasper Police Department, and is charged with aggravated battery of a six-month-old.

Jasper Police say they were dispatched on October 18th, with Memorial EMS and Jasper First Responders, to a 911 report of an infant who was having medical problems at that infant's daycare provider.

The infant, at the time of the initial call, was six-month-old. The child was transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center as a victim of suspected physical abuse.

Due to the severity of the child's injuries, the infant was transferred to Riley's Children Hospital in Indianapolis. No further information is being released on the condition or current location of the child.

Gootee is lodged in the Dubois County Security Center. The Indiana Department of Child Services assisted in the investigation
