Last updated on Wednesday, November 23, 2011

(WORTHINGTON) - A warrant has been issued for 25-year-old Joshua Mulvihill, of Worthington, charging him with possession of a Schedule III, IV substance within 1,000 feet of a family housing complex, theft, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and interfering with reporting a crime.

The warrant was issued after police went to the Worthington Senior Citizens Apartments on West Street after a 911 call.

Theresa Jones, met police in the parking lot and told them her son, Mulvihill, was inside her apartment destroying it. When police went to the apartment they heard a commotion and Mulvihill fled out a back window. According to a probable cause affidavit when police entered the apartment they found broken glass, a broken lamp and numerous items thrown about. After a search they found numerous pills and drug paraphernalia.

Jones told police that her son had been "marking" on the walls and telephone and when she asked him why he was doing that, it sent him into a rage.

Mulvihill is alleged to have thrown a glass at her just missing her. When she went to call police he tore the phone from the wall. Mulvihill also stole her wallet with her debit card and other personal items.

Police say Jones was afraid of her son and she told police he had threatened to burn her apartment.
