(SANTA CLAUS) - The U.S. Capital Christmas tree is making a stop in Santa Claus Monday.
The stop is one of many on its journey from California to the nation's capital. The tree will stop at the Kringle Place Shopping Center at 3:30 p.m. Central time.
The public is invited to attend the welcoming ceremony and there will be children's activities planned. The tree is a Sierra white fir which is 118-years old, 65 feet tall and weighs in at 8,300 pounds.
The Capital Christmas tree's tour began back on November 8th. The tree will reach its final destination which is Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., on November 28.
