Terre Haute Mission Workers Injured After Attempted Robbery

(TERRE HAUTE) - Gretchen Lee, of Terre Haute, says six gunmen broke into an apartment where mission workers from Indiana were staying in Haiti and shot four people during an attempted robbery.

None of the workers was fatally wounded in the shooting late Thursday night.

Two workers were shot in the thigh, one was shot in the elbow and another man's thumb was grazed by a bullet. Another man had injured feet after leaping from a second-floor window to run and get help.

The workers were treated for their injuries and are recovering. The mission workers were flew back to the United States on Friday.
