(INDIANAPOLIS) - Monday Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, accepted a donation from representatives of the Indiana State Poultry Association of more than 131,000 pounds of Indiana poultry products for Hoosier food pantries.
The donation took place during a ceremony at the State House outside the Lt. Governor's office.
Donations were dropped off behind the Statehouse this morning and will be distributed locally through the Shepherd Community Center.
Others were donated in the name of Lt. Governor Skillman and will be delivered directly to local communities.
Skillman appreciated the donations and says many Hoosier are rely on food banks to feed their families.
