Last updated on Thursday, November 10, 2011

(COLUMBUS) - Officers have yet to locate a motorist who led police on a chase into the eastern part of Bartholomew County and crashed a stolen vehicle into a home at 9300 E. 25th St.

The incident unfolded at about 7 p.m., according to Columbus Police Department.

Officer Frank Dickman began following the vehicle at 10th St. and National Road when the driver refused to stop. Dickman pursued the vehicle for about five minutes, including a time in which the motorist turned off his headlights.

At one point, Dickman lost site of the vehicle. People then called police to report they saw a vehicle crash into the home and saw the driver flee on foot. A canine unit was dispatched while city police and Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department officers set up a perimeter in the area. Clay Township Volunteer Fire Department also assisted in the investigation.
Police say no one was injured at the scene of the crash or during the chase.
