(MUNCIE)(AP) - 24-year-old Danielle Shrack, of Muncie, was sentenced to four years in prison, after authorities says her 6-month old son weighted only six pound when he was removed from her custody.
The boy is now in the custody of relatives, along with an older sibling.
Shrack's defense attorney blamed her actions in part on post-partum depression and abuse she suffered while a child.
She pleaded guilty in September to a felony charge of child neglect.
Her 45-year-old husband William, pleaded guilty to the same charge and is set to be sentenced in January.
