Man Recieves Dog Tags Of Brother Killed In Vietnam

Last updated on Thursday, November 17, 2011

(NEW ALBANY) - A New Albany man has recovered the dog tags worn by his brother before he was killed in Vietnam 43 years ago.

Larry Davis has tired for years to get the medals his younger brother, Randy, earned as a U.S. Marine machine-gunner.

Randy Davis was killed by an enemy mortar round when he was 18.

Family members finally found Tours of Peace Vietnam Veterans, a nonprofit organization that locates dog tags of American soldiers killed in Vietnam and returns them to their family.

After Larry proved he was Randy's brother, the organization shipped him his brother's dog tags.
