(MADISON)(AP) - A southeastern Indiana high school band teacher accused of sexual misconduct involving two teenage girls has been released from jail as school officials move to fire him.
A court clerk says 25-year-old Jacob Blanton of Scottsburg was released on $10,000 cash bond Monday after a Jefferson County judge entered a not guilty plea to charges of child seduction on his behalf. Defense attorney David Mosley says he has no comment on the case.
The judge ordered Blanton to avoid contact with the girls, who prosecutors say were between 14 and 16 years old when the incidents occurred.
Madison Consolidated High School principal Kevin Yancey tells WHAS-TV that he is recommended that the school board fire Blanton, who has been suspended without pay.
