(CARLISLE) - An investigation is underway at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility after an inmate was found dead in his cell.
Investigators say the staff in the Secured Confinement Unit found the inmate unresponsive in his cell early Monday morning.
An autopsy is scheduled for today to determine the cause of death. The name of the deceased inmate has not been released, pending notification of next-of-kin.
The offender had been held in the Administrative Segregation portion of the facility, which is a single cell environment.
