Hunters Arrested On Hunting And Drug Charges

(UNDATED) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested two Indiana men Monday afternoon for multiple hunting and drug violations in Johnson County.

Conservation officers were on routine patrol on Atterbury Fish and Wildlife Area Property, when they saw two men enter the field to hunt. Officers stopped the men to check hunting licenses and found one man had already exceeded his daily limit on Ring-necked Pheasant and the other man had reached his daily limit.

Officers were given consent to search the vehicle and found marijuana and other drug paraphernalia inside.

One man was arrested on charges of felony possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and misdemeanor exceeding the daily bag limit of ring-necked pheasant. The other man was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and misdemeanor attempting to exceed the daily bag limit for Ring-necked Pheasant.

Both men were booked into the Johnson County Jail.
