Fort Wayne Principal Arrested On Drug Charges

(FORT WAYNE)(AP) - 41-year-old Shadwaynn Curry, assistant principal at Memorial park Middle School, in Fort Wayne, was arrested late Monday on preliminary charges of dealing marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of paraphernalia.

Krista Stockman, a school district spokeswoman says Curry has been suspended indefinitely and that there is no reason to believe curry was involved in any impropriety at the school.

According to police reports officers who searched Curry's home found several pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cocaine, money and a loaded firearm. Curry's husband, 33-year-old Derek Curry, also was arrested on drug charges Monday in Illinois.
