Toddler Swallows Push Pin Dies

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) (WDRB) - Louisville Metro Police are conducting a death investigation at a Louisville daycare.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, the investigation is focused on Trina's Treehouse. Shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, a 2-year-old boy was found "unresponsive" at the daycare.

He was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.

The cause of death is said to be the "complete obstruction of airway by a foreign object."
In this case, the "foreign object" is a bulletin board push-pin.
