(UNDATED) - The price of mailing a letter is going up again.
The cash-strapped post office is increasing the price of a First Class stamp.
Those Forever Stamps you have right now are good to go forever but, if you buy Forever Stamps after January 22nd, 2012, they'll cost you a penny more.
The cash-strapped post office is increasing the price of a first class stamp from 44 to 45-cents.
The post office says it lost more than $8-billion in fiscal 2010 and that loss will likely be worse when final figures for 2011 are released next month.
In addition to the First Class Stamp increase, postcards will go up 3 cents to 32 cents.
Letters to Canada and Mexico will increase a nickel to 85 cents.
Letters to other foreign countries will go up 7 cents to $1.05.
And prices for advertising mail, periodicals and parcels will also rise about 2.1-percent.
The current 44-cent rate for a First Class Stamp has been in effect since May 2009.
