Shelburn Man's Death Under Investigation Foul Play Not Likely

Last updated on Monday, October 31, 2011

(TERRE HAUTE) - Investigation into a Shelburn man’s death is under way as officials state foul play is unlikely.

According to a media release issued by the Indiana State Police, Andrew Thompson, 33, was found deceased in a living room chair inside his residence in the 100 block of West Maple Street, Shelburn. Reportedly, Thompson had not been heard from for days, and family members checking on him found him there before 2 p.m. Friday.

According to the release, the Criminal Investigation Division of the ISP Putnamville Post is investigating the death, but detectives "do not believe foul play is involved and are preliminarily considering accidental overdose of medications as a possible cause."

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
