(MUNCIE) - Is the nation headed toward a double-dip recession?

A group called the Economic Cycle Research Institute says we are indeed headed for another downpoint. The group says it has a solid record of predicting economic trends.

But Ball State University Economics Professor Dr. Mike Hicks says not so fast. Hicks says the nation is going through a slow period which is fairly common following recessions.

Hicks says these slow periods can last anywhere from nine to 24 months. Hicks says dampened sales and low enthusiasm for investment don't necessarily mean the nation is recession-bound. Hicks says another recession could happen, but a double-dip downturn isn't imminent.
