Monrovia High School Teacher Arrested For Rape

(INDIANAPOLIS) -- A Monrovia High School teacher has been arrested after a 16-year-old student told police he raped her at his home.

45-year-old Daniel Goens, was arrested Thursday morning on preliminary charges of rape, criminal deviate conduct, confinement and two counts of child seduction.

The 16-year-old girl came forward in September, telling police that Goens, a teacher and coach, had sent her sexual text messages and pictures beginning in January and that he forced her to have sex with him in late April. Goens is currently being held in the Marion County Arresting Processing Center awaiting an initial hearing.
