(INDIANAPOLIS) - A Frontier Airlines jet was temporarily grounded at the Indianapolis International Airport late Friday after flight crews spotted a suspicious passenger headed toward the lavatory with a bottle of clear liquid.

Officials said Flight 609 was preparing for takeoff to Denver when a man carrying a bottle of clear liquid entered the lavatory while other passengers were still boarding the plane.

Flight attendants said the man stayed in the lavatory for about 25 minutes, and when he came out, he was no longer holding the bottle.

Crews alerted airport police, and all passengers were told to get off the plane.

The suspicious passenger was taken into custody and questioned by airport police, while a thorough security check of the plane was carried out by authorities

The flight was delayed for about two hours before departing, officials said.
