(INDIANAPOLIS) - A convicted child molester who was arrested late last week on child pornography charge killed himself while in the Marion County Jail.
51-year-old Anthony Humphrey, of Muncie, was found hanging in his cell at about 4 a.m. Monday, says Julio Fernandez, public information officer for Marion County Sheriff's Department.
Humphrey was arrested last Wednesday after an FBI raid at his apartment in Muncie.
He had been charged in federal court with child pornography "based on computer images seized during the raid of children engaged in sex acts," Fernandez says.
According to court documents, Humphrey was arrested as he left a sex offender group counseling session.
Humphrey was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2003 after he was convicted of sexually abusing an 8-year-old Delaware County boy.
