(OGDEN, KANSAS) - A 28-year-old Army sergeant from Wheatfield died in what police are calling an apparent homicide in northeast Kansas.

Ronald Evans Taylor was a 2001 graduate of Kankakee Valley High School.

The Riley County Police Department said it received a 9-1-1 call Friday night about a vehicular accident and found someone administering CPR. Taylor was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Taylor's younger brother Alex said it appeared that Ronald was about a block away from his home when he was shot twice, passed out and crashed into a house trying to get away.

Ronald Taylor joined the army in 2007 but was injured and was seeking a medical discharge.
