Three People Die When Truck Hit By Train

(Louisville, Ky.) - Three people were killed Friday night when the pickup they were in was hit by a train.

Jeffery L. Cockrill, 42, Fountain Run, Ky., and his two passengers, Stephanie Cockrill, 34, of Fountain Run, Ky., and Samantha Coulter, 28, of Adolphus, Ky., died at the scene.

A fourth passenger, John Coulter, 31, of Adolphus, Ky., was transported by Air Evac to the University of Louisville Hospital.

Kentucky State Trooper James Newkirk, said a Cockrill was driving his 2000 Dodge truck west on Ray Houchin Road in Edmonson county when he failed to yield at the railroad crossing.

A CSX train traveling north hit the driver's side of the truck and pushed it about a quarter of a mile before stopping. The truck then burst into flames.
