(KOKOMO) - Shots were fired after Kokomo police chased a suspect into southern Tipton County.
Officials say the chase began around midnight Thursday.
Kokomo police followed the suspect south out of Kokomo into rural Howard County on U.S. 31. The chase ended in southern Tipton County when the suspect's vehicle crashed.
State troopers say shots were fired after the crash. It's believed the chase suspect was taken to an Indianapolis hospital via ambulance to be treated for injuries.
