Miracle Mile Festival Hits This Saturday

Last updated on Friday, September 2, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Miracle Mile Festival is Saturday morning at eleven in Fountain Square in Indianapolis.

The festival includes a parade at 1 p.m., which volunteer Jeff Cardwell says will include a chance to see the two beams from the World Trade Center that are being used to build a local 9/11 memorial. It will also include a flyover of a Huey military chopper. The Indiana Search and Rescue Team will be aboard the helicopter.

At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the "American We Remember" starts at Garfield Park. The event includes a free concert with the Wright brothers and fireworks at dusk.

The Millard Fuller Legacy build begins on Labor Day. Volunteers in Indianapolis will build two homes of the 100 being built around the world. The build is at 1130 South St. Paul Street. It helps commemorate the 1976 founding of Habitat For Humanity with Millard and Linda Fuller.
