(GREENFIELD) - Crops on the East Coast are suffering due to hurricane Irene, but one farmer says it’s hit and miss in Indiana.
Mike Roney, co-founder of Tuttle Orchards in Greenfield, says his crops are doing well, but there are others nearby that might be suffering.
Roney says pumpkin crops need hot weather during the summer, but also plenty of water. He says his crops have done well because he was able to irrigate during the hot period in July. He also says the weather usually affects only the number of pumpkins and not their size.
