(EVANSVILLE) - An Evansville police officer has resigned from the department after allegations he stopped a female driver and made improper comments to her.

The Evansville Courier & Press reports David Fehrenbacher was suspended for 21 days in April for failing to respond to an alarm run, failing to follow traffic stop procedures, failure to be courteous to the public and attempting to use his station to influence a member of the public.

The Police Merit Commission was due to review his status on September 26th.
