(TERRE HAUTE) - The superintendent of the Vigo County school corporation is banning the corporation buses from transporting students on Interstate 70.
Dan Tanoos says he made the decision for safety reasons after hearing of the numerous accidents reported on the interstate, especially between Terre Haute and Indianapolis.
Tanoos says the alternate route will be US 40. Tanoos admits that US 40 will add to the travel time and is uncertain how that will effect athletic teams trying to get to games or events.
