(UNDATED) - The 2012 Farmers' Almanac predicts Indiana will have a nasty winter.

Sandy Duncan is the managing editor of the almanac which is in its 195th year of publication. She said temperatures are going to be normal, to above normal, but precipitation will not. Some of the precipitation may fall in the form of ice, rain or freezing rain Duncan predicted. In fact, Duncan warned Hoosiers may want to keep boots and raincoats handy in January and February.

The publication has a 75 to 80-percent accuracy rate. In fact, Duncan said the 2011 almanac warned residents along the east coast about hurricane Irene.

This years publication is titled, "Clime And Punishment."
