(BAINBRIDGE, IN) - A North Putnam Middle School Special Education Teacher resigned Tuesday following public outrage over posts she made on her Facebook page.

Amber Russell allegedly implied in the posts that her students were dumb, sparking controversy among parents of students at the school.

A parent of one of the students also claimed Russell locked her then 13-year-old autistic child in a supply closet.

A complaint has been filed the Indiana Department of Education that could result in revocation of Russell's teaching license.
