Last updated on Thursday, June 16, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A public voting campaign begins to pick a Monument Circle makeover.

From 64 contest entries, judges have selected their favorite 12 concepts to make Indianapolis' Literal and Symbolic Center a more happening place.

Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard says the city wanted something feasible.

The six-judge panel awarded first prize to the entry entitled "From Inertia To Inner Circle" submitted by Jean-Baptiste Cueille and Francois David of Paris, France. It features outdoor cafes and comfortable seating.
