Last updated on Thursday, June 30, 2011

(BUNKER HILL, IN) - An inmate at the Miami Correctional Facility faces murder and criminal confinement charges for killing his bunkmate.

Miami County Prosecutor Bruce Embrey filed the charges against 56-year-old Joseph Brown Tuesday.

The probable cause affidavit alleges Brown strangled 62-year-old Charles Miller in their cell block June 19th.

Miller was serving time on an attempted murder conviction out of Howard County while Brown was serving out a life without parole sentence out of Evansville for the murder of his wife.

Embrey says Brown has since been transferred to the Westville Correctional Facility.

An initial hearing date has not been set yet.
