City Of Anderson Looking For Lockout Resolution

Last updated on Wednesday, June 15, 2011

(ANDERSON) - Anderson city officials are hoping talk of an NFL lockout remains just talk.

The city is looking forward to Colts summer training camp next month at Anderson University.

They say training camp last summer brought about 85,000 visitors to Anderson along with $6.4 million in economic impact. Mayor Kris Ockomon says training camp also gives the economically depressed city a needed morale boost.

The current labor strife between team owners and players notwithstanding, Colts General Manager Chis Polian and the Anderson University president confirm both sides are hammering out up to a five-year deal that aims to keep Colts training camp at AU. Up until now, the Colts trained there on a year to year basis.
