(UNDATED) - The other candidate seeking the Republican party's nomination for governor says he has many advantages over what some political observers consider the front runner.

Jasper County native and central Indiana businessman Jim Wallace says if elected he intends to focus on economic rather than social issues.

He says he found in several pre-campaign surveys that social issues really don't divide hoosiers as much as economic issues do.

He also says he sees it as an opportunity to expand, economically, on what Governor Mitch Daniels has already done.

Wallace says GOP voters will have a choice between the "better of two goods," rather than the "lesser of two evils" in a race between himself and frontrunner Congressman Mike Pence.

Wallace is a Kankakee Valley High School and a military graduate from West Point.

He was a helicopter pilot in the army and a Fishers Town and Hamilton County Councilman.

But Wallace says it's his years of experience as a businessman creating jobs that he says he'll bring to the governor's office.
