Puppy Being Nursed Back To Health Following Intentional Burning

Last updated on Tuesday, May 31, 2011

(NEW CASTLE, IN) - An 8-week-old puppy is being nursed back to health after it was found badly burned in a New Castle alley.

The boxer-mix puppy was discovered with severe burns on its feet, legs, tail and underside.

Shelter Director Linda Bir-Conn says it looks like the animal was intentionally burned.

The puppy should be available for adoption in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, the crime would be a Class D Felony if it's determined the puppy was tortured or mutilated.

He is being cared for at a foster home until he recovers.

Anyone with information about the puppy is asked to call the shelter at 765-529-8131.
