Planned Parenthood Supporters Rallying Statewide

Last updated on Monday, May 2, 2011

(UNDATED) - Supporters of Planned Parenthood are rallying across the state to try and save funding to the organization which is in danger of being cut.

Kate Shepherd with Planned Parenthood of Indiana says the goal is to try and prevent Governor Daniels from signing House Bill 1210 into law, which would cut three million dollars in federal funding for the organization.

Shepherd says the rallies are for Planned Parenthood supporters.

The rallies began Friday in Indianapolis and will continue through May 4th with more possibly being added.

A full schedule of the rallies can be found at www.ppin.org.

Governor Daniels issues a statement Friday indicating he will sign the bill when it reaches his desk.
