(AVON, IN) - A Hendricks County man is in the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds after a standoff south of Avon Monday morning.
Deputies were called to the home on East 100 South by the 54-year old man's mother.
She let police into the home and led them to her son's bedroom door and he opened fire with a shotgun.
One deputy returned fire, hitting the man several times in the stomach and arm.
He barricaded himself in the bedroom and swat team members assembled, but negotiators were able to take him into custody.
He is being treated at Wishard Hospital.
His condition is not yet known.
