(UNDATED) - The 2011 Indiana 500 tour will kick off this week and will promote the state's early heritage.
The tour will include 500 miles in Southern Indiana.
As part of this kick-off to the travel season, the Spencer County Visitors Bureau will host a reception with the Perry County Visitors Bureau at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial in Lincoln City.
Each year, the Association of Indiana Convention and Visitors Bureaus identifies 500 as a "must-see" for visitors during the summer.
For 2011, the AICVB selected Southern Indiana to highlight the state's diverse history.
