Girl Scout Cookies On The Way To Military Personnel

Last updated on Tuesday, May 17, 2011

(UNDATED) -Tens of thousands of Girl Scout cookies are on the way to military personnel around the world.

Girl Scouts of Central Indiana is part of the "Operation: Cookie Drop," where cookies are purchased particularly for the U.S. military.

Susan Brown is a troop leader in Pike Township.

She says a woman approached her last year and hugged her, tears in her eyes.

The woman explained her son kept keepsakes in a used cookie box he received while deployed.

He had collected all these in this Girl Scout cookie box and brought it home and he had saved it and told her how much that meant to him while he was away from home.
