Special Education Teacher Resigns Following Text Harassment

Last updated on Monday, April 25, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN)- Special Education Teacher and Girls Softball Coach Amanda Jacobs resigned from both positions to the Decatur Township School Board within the last week.

A board member confirmed Jacobs resigned after the board found out Jacobs was texting during the school day.

District Spokeswoman Robin Gregory said the district does not have a specific policy against texting during school hours.

Two families have shared documents they say show repeated text messages and phone calls to Jacobs' student athletes to the point of harassment.

Jacobs is not facing any charges.
